Bedfordshire Community Health Services are looking for Band 4 Podiatry Support Worker who is passionate and committed to providing high quality care to join our team in Bedfordshire.
Our Podiatry service is a diverse, supportive and innovative team and our work has been included in 3 national guides published by NHS England and NHS Benchmarking. This has included :-
Collaborative care home training project tackling pressure ulcer prevention and diabetic foot disease
Diabetes transformation reducing amputations and bed nights,
The role of podiatry in primary care.

The successful candidate will be assigned a line manager who will provide regular supervision and support.
Main duties of the job
You will receive close clinical monitoring and supervision, clinical rotations and competency support and sign of. You would be expected to support us, under supervision, in all aspects of our service provision.
As a service we provide
MDfT for acute diabetic foot complications,
In patient provision
early intervention of diabetic foot problems with proactive identification of the vulnerable caseloads in primary care
access to an evolving and expanding foot protection service including specialist vascular assessment, musculoskeletal assessment and access to non medical prescribers
well developed and established education packages providing structured education and diabetes support to the Diabetic population, primary care and community nursing
Care Homes training programme in collaboration with Dietitians and TVNs
In addition we also hold musculoskeletal, Rheumatology and Paediatric clinics, Nail Surgery and have access to Podiatric Surgery.

This post is based in South Beds/Luton in Bedfordshire however there may be an expectation to provide cover across the county depending on demand so a full driving license and access to a car is essential at all times. There is also an expectation to work from different clinical bases, acute settings, residential and care homes and patients own homes.
