Job responsibilities

1. To actively promote better understanding and knowledge of mental health and wellbeing within Primary Care and to assist with the management of common mental health disorders and chronic conditions for service users, closer to home. Reinforcing the importance of integrated, holistic approaches and person-centered care.
2. To take a lead on providing specialist triage and assessment of service users with mental health problems within the Primary Care setting to ensure the proactive management of service user needs and access to evidenced based interventions. You will be required to have excellent report writing and communication skills. This will be under the supervision of Specialist CAMHS, who will lead on triage and assessment of people with more complex presentations.

1. To provide effective signposting to voluntary sector services, primary and secondary care as appropriate, utilizing the step up/ step down approach, to ensure that interventions offered are outcome focused and time limited. With guardianship of referral to secondary services, ensuring referral is only offered for those with severe and enduring mental health disorders.
2. To promote the active utilization of psychological and non-psychological treatments within the PCN Community Hub.
3. To be able to offer a range of psychological and non-psychological treatments within the PCN Community Hub

Person Specification

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential

• Registered Nurse Mental Health or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities or Registered Children's Nurse. Part 3/8/13 or 15 NMC register
• Non-medical prescribing qualification
• ENB 998 or equivalent

Experience

Essential

• Previous experience of working in CAMHS or equivalent
• Experience at Band 7 or above.
• Experience of working specifically with neurodevelopmental disorders
• Experience of line managing junior staff

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Evidence of well-developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS
• Evidence of flexible working practices and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Clinical supervision skills
• Able to manage own time and caseload
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Evidence of ability to lead, support and influence others
• Able to work effectively across
• Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Children Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation
• Knowledge of specific inner city issues which impact of care delivery
