Job summary

Sally Sherman is CQC outstanding 19 bedded older adult wards, caring for patients with challenging behaviour /Advanced Dementia from Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham borough.

Main duties of the job

The role includes undertaking direct or indirect care of a patient/ group of patients over the age of 50 suffering from mental illness with complex needs as part of the team, under the supervision of registered nurses.

  • NVQ in care level 2/3 or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Clinical experience working with older adult with mental health with complex needs and physical health problems.

Desirable

  • Be able to provide written reports on the advice of a Registered Nurse, relating to the care of Service Users or untoward incidents

Knowledge

Essential

  • Motivated and committed to working in Mental Health Care.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with Older Adults, MDT and carers.
  • Ability to undertake physical tasks involving patient care
  • Manual handling
  • IT literate
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of older adult with mental health problems
  • Infection control measures
