Job summary
We are looking for experienced and dynamic professional who has experience and appreciation of some of the richness and complexities of working within an inter-culturally community. This is a community-based post in Newham CAMHS to work within our Front Door and Emotional and Behavioural (E&B) Team.
The role working within the FDT involves:
- Triaging referrals into CAMHS, including the assessment and prioritisation of clinical complexity and risk.
- Effectively assessing and prioritising clinical complexity and risk.
- Effectively liaise with referrers, professionals, partners and agencies in relation to referrals, assessments and any other general queries
- To provide a quality specialist service to clients (and their families/carers) referred to CAMHS across all sectors of care.
- Offering group and brief interventions where necessary.
Main duties of the job
- Providing specialist assessment and intervention for complex mental health needs and to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise systematic governance of practice within CAMHS
- There is a broad range of therapeutic interventions offered and the post holder would be supported and encouraged to develop skills in group work, alongside individual clinical work.
- One day a week support the Youth Zones in Newham, community based post offering flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatment to a wide variety of clinical presentations, and direct work. The Youth Zones work includes consultation to youth workers, working collaboratively with young people attending the service, and taking a community psychology and co-production approach.
The successful candidate will join stimulating and supportive multidisciplinary teams. There is a strong commitment to clinical supervision and professional development within CAMHS and the wider NHS Foundation Trust including many learning and teaching opportunities. This is a community-based post, which also requires a high degree of professional autonomy and self management.
