Job summary

The post holder will be expected to assist with the provision of a high-quality pharmacy service to patients of the Trust. To work closely with the Pharmacy Procurement Lead in the ordering of medication and goods and to assist with any queries from goods in member of staff.

The post holder will also be expected to work closely with the ward pharmacist and maintains a close working relationship with other members of the multidisciplinary team; this includes Nursing staff, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Junior Doctors and Ward Clerks.

The post holder will be expected to work in a number of different environments including mental health in-patient wards, PICU, Home Treatment Teams the trust pharmacy dispensary and pharmacyprocurement

The post holder is to ensure all documentation regarding medicines management is completed and accurate.

The post holder is to undertake ward based activities, coordinating and maintaining medication supply to designated ward(s).The post holder will be expected to undertake general dispensary and distribution activities including supply of medication to patients and wards and to assist the day-to-day running of procurement, dispensary, distribution and goods in

They are to maintain their ACPT qualification via their allocated dispensary slots in the Dispensary at Mile End Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You will lead on the provision of pharmacy services in Tower Hamlets. We have exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed pharmacy technician that has experience working in pharmacy procurement to join ELFT pharmacy procurement supporting the lead pharmacy procurement technician with ensuring the supply of medicines to all of ELFT sites.

Your main duties will include assisting procurement lead in the ordering of medication and goods. The processing of invoices and credit notes and chasing up outstanding orders of medication and other goods

To ensure the smooth running of pharmacy procurement in the absence of procurement lead

To assist in the supply and distribution of flu vaccines to sites across ELFT during flu campaign

To communicate with other members of pharmacy team regarding supply issues/shortages

To support goods in person with any queries they have or help they need

To participate in dispensary duties where applicable

To maintain Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) status

To assist with the provision of a high quality pharmacy optimisation service to patients of the Trust.

To assist in developing the pharmacy technical services at Mile End and across the trust in terms of the whole process from procurement through to supply/ return of medication from the ward.

To manage, provide leadership, guidance and clinical supervision to junior members of the team and ATO's
