The East London Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) is a multidisciplinary team including Therapies (family therapy, clinical/ counselling psychology, assistant psychology), Medical (psychiatry and paediatrics), Nursing (mental health and paediatric nursing), Dietetics, Support Workers & Administrative and Operational staff.
We offer specialist services including assessment and treatment to young people under 18 who are experiencing an eating disorder. Our team covers the East London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham and City & Hackney.
Main duties of the job
To complete specialist eating disorder assessmentswithin the Community Eating Disorder Service forChildren & Young People (CEDS-CYP). Assessmentswill follow standardised protocols that will include bothpsychological and some physical health measures.Assessments will be discussed with the MDT within theCYP-CEDS.
To act as the duty clinician on the rota of duty cliniciansmanaging referrals and providing a rapid response tourgent clinical situations.
To be involved in the assessment, diagnosis andtreatment of children and young people with eatingdisorders in the community, to liaise closely with otherhealth care professionals to ensure a consistentapproach.
To provide specialist therapeutic interventions as part ofindividualised treatment plans based onpsychotherapeutic principles which are grounded inevidence based practice and NICE - concordantinterventions for eating disorders.
Care coordinate a substantial caseload of assessment,treatment and consultation work, identifying priorities ofaction in complex circumstances.

Educational/Qualification
Essential
- A qualification and professional registration in Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy, Nursing, Counselling Psychology, or other equivalent profession.
- Clinical Psychology Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996)
- Registration with HCPC
- Family Therapy Qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession such as Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Nursing or Counselling
- Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFT agreed equivalent
- UKCP Registered
- Nursing Mental Health Nurse Level 1 (RN3, RNMH in sub part 1 of the NMC Register) ENB 998 or equivalent Relevant post-graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (e.g. ENB 603)
