Cross-County post within the Bedford & Luton CAMHS Neuro-developmental Teams
We are looking for an experienced OT with experience of working with children and young people who has ASD and ID difficulties. CAMHS NDT are a community based service operating across the County and you will be a vital part of our multi-disciplinary support service. You will be able to offer home and clinic based assessments on behalf of the team and be able to plan and offer suitable interventions.
Main duties of the job
There is also the opportunity build up links with the specialist provisions in the County.
You will be working in a community based clinic team delivering a service to children, young people and their families in a supportive and lively multidisciplinary team, where differences in training and theoretical standpoints are respected and valued. You will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the delivery of a modern and comprehensive service, and to contribute to our teams ability to continue offering an excellent service to all our stakeholders.
The post requires an individual who is adaptable, willing to offer evidence-based short and medium-term therapeutic interventions, and to use feedback and outcome measures robustly in order to deliver practice-based quality assurance. - Ability to undertake all aspects of the occupational therapy process (See JD)
- Highly developed skills in relation to a field of specialism e.g. Bobath, Sensory Integration, Visual Perception: ability to diagnose specific problems in the field, devise and implement appropriate treatment programmes, and evaluate and modify the programme accordingly
- Good knowledge of postural management and the ability to carry out seating assessments for the child in their home and/or school to ensure that they have the means to be able to fully engage in family life and fully participate in the school curriculum
- Ability to carry out therapeutic interventions including gross and fine motor activities using manual dexterity skills and physical stamina e.g. sensory integration treatments using large
