Job summary

Recovery College Operational Manager - Recovery Services

We are offering a 6 month secondment for the Recovery Services in Bedfordshire and Luton. This person will take responsibility for the Recovery College and Diverse Cultures Community Support Team. To continue the development of the services, contribute to the Community Mental Health Services Transformation and 3rds sector partnership arrangements. Develop equality of access and ensure our service meets the needs of all our communities.

Main duties of the job

You will lead the operational management of the team, whilst working pro-actively with the Service Manager to ensure safe and effective implementation of service developments relevant to the team. You will be responsible for the safe and effective management all operations in the team.

You will be required to work closely with the Service Manager to develop the team in line with commissioner requirements and Trust objectives, consulting all key stakeholders, and positively reinforcing the expectations of the organisation through collaborative and dynamic management and leadership that is both supportive and encouraging in nature to enable the team to adapt to key changes smoothly.

You will be responsible for the safe and effective management and development of both the Recovery College and the Diverse Cultures Community Support Team.

  • To manage the effective delivery of all functions of the team, ensuring that robust arrangements are in place to support service users, carers and partner organisations, and that the effective management of human, financial and estate resources is in place to achieve Trust objectives.
  • Development of service model to reflect the local need and good practice

  • To achieve financial balance in the team, making the best use of your financial resources to achieve positive clinical outcomes for service users and carers.

  • To support the Directorate to meet annual CRES requirements.

  • To ensure the physical environment is conducive to the delivery of high quality care by ensuring there are clear systems for:

  • Ensuring accessible systems are in place including RiO, Datix, MRN and appropriate platforms e.g. Teams, Zoom.
  • Undertaking safe lone working in community locations
  • Liaison with relevant organisations in satellite bases to ensure a clean, safe and secure environment.

  • oPrevious experience of managing Recovery based services
  • oPrevious experience of organizational change
  • oPrevious experience of service development, quality improvement and of bringing innovation and new ideas to practice
  • oPrevious experience of working within the NHS and with senior allied professionals, internal and external stake holders
