Clinical Practice Lead (Band 5-6 Development Programme) MH Acute Inpatients
East London NHS Foundation Trust currently provides mental health and learning disability services in Luton and Bedfordshire.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 RMNs who are looking to enhance their development and aspiring to become a Clinical Practice Lead (Band 6). This transition will be framed within the Band 5-6 Development Programme which is skills and competency driven.
The development programme will be a minimum of 6 months and maximum of up to 18 month post preceptorship. As a minimum, the ideal applicant would have completed their preceptorship.
Main duties of the job
The programme is driven by a competency workbook of which the successful applicant will be assessed on throughout the programme. The programme is a perfect methodical approach to learning through skills, knowledge and confidence. Upon completion of the programme, you will be proficient and fully competent at performing the Clinical Practice Lead role.
Completion of this programme will develop and increase your scope to provide you with a great platform and line you up to progressing to the next level even after the Clinical Practice Lead role.
The successful candidate will act up, be seconded and receive a pay salary equivalent to a Band 6 Clinical Practice Lead. The secondment will then be transitioned into a substantive role once your competencies have been achieved and signed off by your line manager (between 6-18 months).
3 of the Band 5-6 Development posts are currently available at Oakley Court (Ash and Willow Wards)
The Clinical Practice Lead will act as an extension of the Clinical Nurse Manager and will maintain overall responsibility and accountability for the ward when the Clinical Nurse Manager is unavailable. The Clinical Practice Lead will lead clinically, influence decision making, manage situations and enhance the service users experience of the service in clinical practice.
