Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Power BI developer with project management and data science skills to undertake exciting analytical projects and challenges. You will have a passion for presenting data and designing dashboards to inspire decision making! This will entail database development, data extraction and data manipulation using SQL and DAX. This role will also take a lead on user experience design and strategy ensuring our dashboards are designed to high standards and intuitive and exciting to use.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting role joining the Royal Statistical Society Florence Nightingale award winning team (2022)! The primary purpose of the analytics team is to develop an innovative integrated reporting system from clinical and non-clinical data sources to enhance day to day evidence based decision making to improve patient care.

We support our analytics team with a strategic training strategy and we are looking for a candidate that is looking to continuously improve, develop and learn new technologies and approachesin this exciting and ever developing environment.

  • Education to degree level, ideally in Computer Science or Health Informatics or highly numerate and/or computing discipline

  • Extensive 'Hands on' knowledge of large and complex datasets
  • Experience of handling, analysing and manipulating large, complex datasets.
  • Transact SQL experience
  • Project management delivering large scale analytical products
  • Experience of building data models within Power BI
  • Experience of using Power BI for visual analytics
  • Experience of working with complex stored procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Experience of, or demonstrable ability to acquire, the skills of statistical analysis and interpretation of raw data
  • Experience in using statistical software application.
  • Extremely numerate and able to analyse and interpret data and information accurately and effectively
