Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and CAMHS experienced, Clinical Nurse with experience and appreciation of some of the richness and complexities of working inter-culturally and has a passion for working with young people who come into contact with paediatric services.
This post will be part of the Paediatric Liaison Team (PLT) which provides a specialist service for children and young people who present with psychological difficulties related to physical illness or those with psychological problems presenting initially with physical symptoms. The successful candidate will be part of a stimulating, creative and supportive multi-disciplinary team. This is an exciting time to be joining the team as we are increasing our reach within Newham Hospital. This will be an interesting and varied job working with children, young people and their families/carers. Members of the teams have interests in a variety of areas, including systemic practice, mind body approaches, narrative therapy and CBT.
Main duties of the job
Newham CAMHS is a large and vibrant child and adolescent mental health service with a reputation for innovation and flexibility in meeting the complex mental health support needs of Newham's children, young people and families. It is centrally located on one site in Plaistow, Newham, and provides an extensive and growing range of services including multi-disciplinary specialist teams such as the Emotional & Behavioural Teams, Adolescent Mental Health Team, Paediatric Liaison Team, Neurodevelopmental Team, and Looked After Children Team. There is a broad spectrum of disciplines and a long tradition of effective multidisciplinary and interagency working (including Education, Children's Social Care and voluntary sector organisations locally). The service undertakes considerable outreach and consultation work.
