Job summary
This is a unique opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the East London Forensic Specialist Community Team on a fixed-term basis. The post holder will be part of a large, dynamic clinical team across various East London localities, working with service users with forensic histories and severe and enduring mental health problems. We are especially keen to hear from applicants who are representative of the diverse population we serve. This post would be suitable for someone with experience in working as an OT, and who is looking to develop their skills further. The Forensic Community team deliver recovery-focused services with a strong therapeutic emphasis on care and treatment. There will be opportunities within this role for training and development of clinical leadership and specialist skills.
Main duties of the job
The East London Community Forensic Service (ELCFS) is a multidisciplinary service, developed for service users in the process of and following discharge from forensic inpatient services within East London.
This post is for a Senior Occupational Therapist based in the community forensic team. The successful candidate will be expected to hold a referral-based caseload, carry out OT assessments and plan interventions, with a focus on daily skills and engagement in meaningful activities. They will need to work closely with the wider therapy team and participate in the planning and delivery of the group programme. They will also have an important role in consulting with multidisciplinary teams, accommodation providers and partner organisations of ELCFS.
