Job summary

Main duties of the job

The People Liaison Officer will play a pivotal role within the people relations team and the wider People and Culture services to ensure that staff are well supported at every stage in their employment life cycle, particularly where a challenge or issue has arisen.

The role has two key elements in enabling a culture shift in how employee relations cases are managed -

  1. To be responsible for developing and delivering robust performance reporting for employee relations, using the employee relations data base 'Selenity'

Essential

  • CIPD Level 3, equivalent qualification, or equivalent level of experience in a HR or customer focused field

Experience

  • Proven administration and organisational experience.
  • Experience of working in a team and supporting needs of colleagues.
  • Experience of being able to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Experience of working across professional boundaries

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and mediation skills, with proven and demonstrable problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyse and assimilate complex information identifying key issues.
  • Proficient ICT skills
  • Proficient experience of MS Office software such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience of analysing data and producing reports for a range of audiences.
  • Familiarity with HR systems/ employee relations databases.
  • Self-motivating, able to act on own initiative and independently
  • Proactive in managing own caseload
  • Knowledge of NHS and wider health environment
  • Able to receive routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills and action accordingly
  • Able to display effective written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient typing skills
  • Able to work with a great degree of flexibility, adapting to constant changing priorities
  • Previous experience of taking minutes at formal hearings
