Job summary
We are looking for an organised, motivated and friendly Medical Rota Assistant to join our busy Centralised Medical Rota Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys administration, working with people, and contributing to a team that plays a key role in supporting safe and effective clinical services.
This role is ideal for someone early in their administrative career or looking to build their experience within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
As a Medical Rota Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to clinicians and Directorate Managers, ensuring the smooth running of daily staffing operations across the Trust.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing emails, telephone enquiries, photocopying, and general administrative tasks
- Updating electronic systems with sickness and annual leave
- Supporting the Supporting Attendance policy for medical staff
- Helping track and support compliance with mandatory training
- Assisting with the rotation of new doctors joining the Trust
- Creating basic rotas and supporting daily staffing queries
- Maintaining accurate filing systems, correspondence and documentation
- Providing professional communication to staff and external contacts
You will be a key point of contact within the team, helping ensure services are safely and appropriately staffed each day.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage their workload
- Can stay calm when dealing with challenging or sensitive queries
- Enjoys being part of a supportive team
- Has experience in an administrative or customer-facing role (NHS experience desirable but not essential)
- Is committed to maintaining confidentiality at all times
Full training will be provided, and you will be supported in developing the skills needed to progress within Medical Workforce services.
