The Maternity Support Worker will work as a member of the Stockport Community Midwifery team, supporting Midwives and Assistant Practitioners with administration and the clinical care of mothers and babies.
The post holder is required to undertake tasks involving direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Midwife. They will maintain a high standard of client care, adhering to all Trust and Maternity Services policies and guidelines, and have excellent administrative and IT skills.
Due to the nature of the role, it isessential that applicants are able totravel independently acrossStockport and the High Peak andregionally when required and haveaccess to a suitable vehicle forbusiness purposes. Where possible,adjustments can be considered inaccordance with the Equality Act.

Main duties of the job
Work in various locations around Stockport, providing high quality, caring, compassionate and personal care to women and their families. Work under the direction of Midwives and Assistant Practitioners, both independently and as part of the multi- disciplinary team.
Assist in busy antenatal clinics and pregnancy circles, supporting with maternal weight, observations and venepuncture, under midwifery direction and supervision.
Supporting parents to care for and feed their babies in the early postnatal period.
Provide administrative support such as ordering tests, booking appointments, supporting with off-duty and ordering/restocking equipment.
