The award winning stroke team on wards A10 and E1 are looking for healthcare assistants to join their teams.

Supporting patients who are admitted to the stroke units providing compassionate care, nutrition and hydration and patient experience through all aspects of their rehabilitation. Undertaking good housekeeping to ensure we provide a clean and safe department.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salaryIn addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

Essential

  • Completed the National Care Certificate, or must complete it within 3 months.
  • Functional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards
  • Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Awareness and understanding of importance of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Infection Control & Safeguarding processes

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Competent at a range of clinical duties, within 6 months.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Basic computer skills with ability / willingness to develop further IT skills

work related circumstances

Essential

  • Able to meet the flexible needs of the role and duty roster

Experience working in a healthcare setting
