Job summary
The role is of a Senior Health Care Assistant working alongside and supporting the pre-operative assessment practitioners in ensuring patients receive the optimum care in ensuring that the patients are fully optimised prior to surgery. The role will involve ensuring that the department is clean and tidy along with some administrative and other duties as requested by the senior team.
The primary role is that of performing venepucture, ECG MRSA screening with the collection of urine samples. You will also be expected to support the surgical wards in the division in ensuring any blood samples which have been requested are taken in a timely manner which both supports the elective surgical pathway and patient flow within the division.

Main duties of the job
Following the completion of appropriate training and assessment and under the direction of a Registered Healthcare Professional undertake:-
o Urine testing / urine analysis
o ECG recording,
o Glucose monitoring
o Medical devices
o Wound care using ANTT
o Venepuncture
as per Trust policy, reporting results to the Registered Healthcare Professional on duty.
Chaperone the patient as required ensuring appropriate support.
