Pharmacy Production Technician

Job summary

A Production Technician is required to carry out a range of duties as part of a busy team within the Pharmaceutical Production Unit. This can include the Aseptic, Sterile and Non-Sterile production units. All work is performed in a 'clean-room' environment, which requires changing into and working in specialised clothing and some confirmed areas.

Stockport Pharmaceuticals production unit supplies pharmaceutical 'specials' to hospitals throughout the National Health Service and to community pharmacies.

The Pharmacy Production Technician role is a graded as a agenda for change Band 4 position.

For those appointed at Band 3, the progression will be dependent on the demonstration of Band 4 criteria detailed in the Person Specification and completion of the training requirements.

Main duties of the job

  • Involved with the day to day running of the production unit in accordance with the directions of the Production Manager and in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.).
  • To be trained to carry out a comprehensive range of range of activities in the production unit under the guidance, supervision of senior colleagues.
  • Work both accurately and effectively, and develop a conscientious attitude in order to provide an effective service which meets all Quality Assurance criteria.
