Job summary
The post holder will work as a member of the Overnight Nursing Service providing direct and indirect patient care as directed by a trained member of the team in order to support patients and their families within their own home environment. The post holder will undertake clerical duties as directed including electronic documentation and working as an effective member of the Multidisciplinary team.
Due to the lone working policy the post holder will never work alone and will always be with a band 6 specialist nurse.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across Stockport and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Where possible, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act.
Main duties of the job
- To provide basic nursing, therapy and social care to people and carers, carrying out delegated clinical, therapeutic and personal care tasks
- To promote the physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing to individuals and client groups.
- To be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising their needs for alternative methods of communication.
- To carry out care/other duties under direct supervision of a registered professional.
