Main duties of the job
Proposed Job Plan:

Independent elective theatre lists

Participation in a 1:8 on-call rota covering:
-
Adult ICU (Level 2/3)

Emergency (CEPOD) anaesthesia

Obstetric anaesthesia (maternity)

Organisation of Medical Administration:

Anaesthesia Clinical Director: Dr Gordon Yuill

ICU Clinical Director: Dr Matt Jackson

Directorate Manager: Ms Kathryn Dore
Office accommodation and secretarial support are provided within Cedar House.

Salary as per national Specialty Doctor/Associate Specialist scales

Full GMC registration and licence to practise required

Person Specification
Post Title:Specialty Doctor / Associate Specialist in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine
Essential:
-
Full GMC registration with licence to practise
-
MBChB or equivalent
-
Minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience, including at least 2 years in anaesthesia
-
Competence to work independently on elective lists
-
On-call experience in ICU and maternity
-
ALS certification
-
Excellent communication and team-working skills
Desirable:
-
FRCA or equivalent
-
APLS / ATLS certification
-
Experience in teaching and clinical audit
-
Knowledge of research methods
-
CESR interest or pathway involvement
