Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly formed centralised medical rota team, based at Stepping Hill Hospital. You will support the Medical Rota Team Leader in ensuring continuity of medical rota cover within the Medicine & Urgent Care Division.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the Rota Co-ordinators you will support in the booking of all temporary medical staff requests on the TempRE system, process locum claim forms and invoices from locum agencies ensuring all details on the forms match the rota and at the correct pay rate and maintain comprehensive records of staff booking and spend.
This role is challenging and demanding and will require excellent time management, interpersonal and organisation skills. You must be able to prioritise your own workload, have a flexible approach to duties and be able to cross cover the rota co-ordinators as and when required. You must be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within the Trust.
You should have rota scheduling and administration experience, ideally within the NHS. You must also be motivated and pro-active within your role and able to wok flexibly.

Deal with a variety of enquiries on behalf of staff using initiative to deal with these enquiries as appropriate taking messages and follow through as required.
To answer the telephone, adhering to the telephone standard, applicable throughout the Trust, take messages and deal with enquiries.
Support with the management of the Medicine & Urgent Care email accounts.
Contact internal and known agency locums
Support the Rota Co-ordinator in co-ordinating the relevant paperwork required for the payment of medical staffing, the electronic recording of that paperwork, for extra on calls/locums worked and ensuring authorised signatory signs off.
Booking medical staffing locums based on the requirements of the service.
To maintain the master electronic rota ensuring that staff bookings are recorded correctly.
Keep locum spreadsheets up to date
Data entry of information for rotas
Check and send CVs to Consultants
Compile Rota Review
Adjustments to the rota in order to give safer staffing levels discussed with Medical Rota Team Leader
