Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Clinical Fellow to join the team in Cardiology at the Stepping Hill Hospital site of the Stockport NHSFoundation Trust.
The Cardiology team has a history of close working relationships with primary care. Such interaction has been instrumental in driving forwarddevelopments such as a shared cardiovascular formulary and a Community Heart Failure service including a GPwSI and Specialist Heart Failurenurses trained and supervised by our department.
In addition there is an active research and teaching programme with colleagues from all sectors and the clinical group has a track record ofsuccess in these areas.
We have a long history of therapeutic and diagnostic pioneering and innovation and are involved with several collaborative initiatives withCardiology Centres across the region.
Main duties of the job
As part of a consultant led service you will participate in the diagnosis and treatment of emergency and non-emergency admissions. Ward rounds covering the cardiology ward and/ or coronary care unit, outpatient clinic, inpatient medical review of patients and associated discharge letters.
Attendance at audit meetings and any duties as deemed necessary by the consultant for the effective running of the service.

The post holder must be able to work as an independent practitioner without direct daily consultant supervision. They should have experience in teaching and research.
The post-holder will be given opportunity and encouraged to participate in the development of their skills such as in echocardiography.Participation in the running of the Trans-oesophageal and stress echocardiography lists will be encouraged when possible. Following thesuccessful approval of the business case for the valve surveillance clinic there will be an opportunity for involvement in the running of thedatabase supportive of these activities and undertake related audit and quality improvement projects.
A session in the Pacing suite may also be provided, depending on the post-holders experience and interest, allowing participation and training inpacemaker implantation.
