Job summary

As a member of the Corporate Quality Team, the post holder will support the on-going improvement and sustainability of high quality, safe patient care as part of the Stockport Accreditation and Recognition Scheme (StARS).

This role will include participation in the accreditation assessments and reporting. Also, you will provide support to the wider clinical teams/wards to embed changes where the accreditation team have identified improvements are required.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work closely with Divisional Nursing Directors, Lead Nurses, Matrons & Ward/Dept Managers in understanding the precise nature of the findings of a clinical area/ward accreditation report. You will support the delivery of the accreditation action plans. Develop collaborative relationships with senior nursing teams to ensure working collectively towards the same quality objectives

Act as an advisory & supportive resource for Senior Nurses & teams in relation to the accreditation scheme. Provide challenge to both individuals & teams where standards fall short of the required level. Maintain regular & visible presence in clinical areas in conjunction with the relevant senior team nurses. Act as role model for patient safety & support staff to deliver safe & effective care

Provide cover and support to the Project Analyst and Support Officer in managing the accreditation schedule, compilation of data and written reports.

When appropriate provide support to quality initiatives, ie Quality Improvement Tests of Change, Quality Collaborative. Attend Senior Nurse Walkabouts, nursing & quality forums as defined by the Quality Team.
