An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Diagnostic Radiographer to join the team here at Stepping Hill Hospital. Successful candidates will be joining a dynamic and forward looking organisation ideally situated between the peak district and the city of Manchester.
We have a robust and well supported training package available for new starters including a dedicated preceptorship programme. In addition our departmental induction program ensures a smooth transition into the team and provides you with support from a dedicated mentor and line manager.
Main duties of the job
To participate in the full range of duties expected at this level, including; plain film, theatres, mobile imaging and a CT rotation.
Ability to participate in flexible working patterns is essential as the department operates a full Radiographer shift system
The fully digital department includes 6 plain film rooms, which are currently being refurbished with state of the art Carestream equipment. We also have 2 fluoroscopy/interventional rooms, dental, DEXA and 5 CT scanners. We have 5 image intensifiers which support a range of surgical procedures. The radiology service also provides a full range of imaging services.
We encourage staff development, and the department supports a number of Advanced Practice roles including CT Head, MSK, Chest, Dexa and GI reporting. Our most recent Chest reporter won the InHealth award for academic excellence in clinical reporting for the adult chest pathway.
