An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Procurement Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
The post-holder will be expected to provide an effective and efficient operational procurement service and to be the Procurement Department's lead for managing E-catalogues and the Purchase Order System.
The post-holder will have responsibility for delivering savings and managing relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. In addition, the post-holder will also have responsibility for managing the development of the Operational Purchasing Team in a challenging climate.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop the Trusts' e-catalogue coverage and to manage the e-catalogues on a day to day basis.
- Management of the e-requisitioning system, ensuring that all submissions are in line with the Trusts' Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders; and to provide assistance in training as required.
- In line with the Trusts' Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders inform the stakeholders of the need to issue a tender / quotation in a timely manner to ensure 'waivers' are reduced and that appropriate timescales for individual procurement exercises are set.
- To be aware of Trust contracts and available framework agreements in order to bring them to the attention of internal stakeholders.
- Work effectively with other members of the Operational Purchasing Team to ensure an efficient transactional procurement service is provided.
- Management of staff including appraisals, performance related issues, disciplinary matters and provide support to resolve problems.
- Participate in relevant meetings providing benchmarking information and support where requested.
- To work in partnership with external organisations as agreed by the Deputy Head of Procurement (Operational).
- To ensure that all maintenance agreements and call-off arrangements are actioned appropriately.
- Working with internal stakeholders to identify and implement additional cost savings.
