Job summary

We are seeking an exceptional and forward-thinking leader to join East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust as our Head of Imaging. This is a pivotal senior role responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical leadership of Imaging services across the Trust.

The Head of Imaging will lead a diverse, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care. The postholder will play a critical role in shaping the future of Imaging services, driving innovation, service transformation, and digital advancement in line with Trust and wider NHS priorities.

Working collaboratively with clinical, operational, and the triumvirate for Care Group 6, the role will ensure that Imaging services are responsive, efficient, and aligned with growing demand, workforce development, and emerging technologies.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Imaging will work in conjunction with the Clinical Director for Radiology (CD) in managing and organising the clinical radiology service; they will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day provision of a comprehensive, efficient, safe and cost-effective service.

They will take responsibility for the operational management and leadership of the Trust's Imaging services; working directly with other service leads, divisional managers and the Trust Executive team to maximise the role of Radiology and its impact on the Trust's strategic and operational objectives.

The post-holder will be instrumental in driving forward service developments, improvements and transformation projects in line with our strategic objectives and the wider health and social care reform agenda. They will utilise their network connections and existing Imaging / Regional Forums to ensure our Imaging Service is sustainable, innovative andto deliver a culture of continuous improvement within the Imaging Service.
