Job summary
We are recruiting for a Specialist Renal Dietitian who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post is based at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, home to our Renal in-patient ward, home haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplant team. Our team also support patients in our satellite dialysis units and outreach Advanced Kidney Care clinics across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and West Essex. The successful post holder will work within an experienced, supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
We encourage candidates aspiring to advance from a Band 5 to Band 6 to apply. Although previous experience of working with adults with kidney disease is desirable, the successful applicant will receive training and development, supported by a structured process of regular management and clinical supervision.
In addition to managing chronic kidney disease, our service supports patients with a broad range of co-morbidities, including management of malnutrition (enteral and parenteral nutrition), weight management, diabetes care and other chronic diseases.
Though this post is offered on a full time basis, those seeking part time hours, or job share will also be considered.

Main duties of the job
As an autonomous practitioner, working closely with members of our multidisciplinary team, will provide a clinical nutrition & dietetic service to adults presenting with acute and chronic kidney disease.
The Specialist Renal Dietitian will demonstrate sound problem solving skills where there is considerable variation in the presentation and health needs of service users. You will gain significant clinical experience in the management of adults presenting with multiple co-morbidities, and those requiring nutritional support.
The post holder will provide training and development to members of the multi-professional team; contribute to the review, development and implementation of the service; undertake practice supervision of students, and develop, implement and review evidence based nutrition and dietetic resources.
