Nursing Associate - Theatre Recovery

Job summary

We are recruiting for a Nursing Associate who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The Registered Nurse Associate in theatre recovery plays a vital role in supporting the multidisciplinary team by providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Working closely with the Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals, you will deliver care for post op patients.

The post holder will have the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute towards the provision of providing a high standard of evidence based care. Your responsibilities will include monitoring observations, administering medications and assisting with wound care. They will contribute to the overall efficiency of the department by ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining patient safety, and adhering to Trust policies and best practices.

Collaboration and communication are key in this fast-paced environment, where you liaise with patients, their families, and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to maintain professional development and participate in training opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge. This role requires strong organisational abilities, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Main duties of the job

Provide hands-on patient care, including assessments and observations.

Perform and record clinical observations including blood pressure, temperature, respirations, pulse rate, peripheral oxygen saturation, consciousness level, and pain score.

Undertake clinical tasks including venepuncture, wound care including compression and continence care.

Accurately record nutritional and fluid intake.

Demonstrate understanding of caring for individuals with particular conditions for example dementia, mental illness, learning disabilities . Support registered nurses in delivering care in the Recovery areas.

Be able to work autonomously within limitations of own practice.
