We are recruiting for Theatre Team Leaders who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We have two new roles available as Theatre Team Leaders. One post is in the Emergency Theatre, and one post would cover General & Gynae Surgery.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will continuously maintain health, safety and control of Infection in clinical work areas.
You will assist in the care for patients undergoing a variety of elective (Urology, Obstetrics & Gynae, Robotics, and General Surgery) and Emergency procedures.
You will receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
The successful candidate will ensure equipment, supplies and waste is kept to a minimum.
You will also possess the ability to work in any of the Theatre areas according to service needs, regardless of which theatre department they are based in, although it is anticipated that staff do permanently work in the department they are employed to be based in.

- RGN and/or ODP
- Registration with NMC/HPC
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Mentorship / Preceptorship qualification

- Completion of relevant critical care modules at level 2 and /or level3 (Diploma/BSc)
- Advanced life support certificate
- Management qualification
Previous Experience
Essential
- Relevant experience in either an inpatient or day surgery theatre or other relevant clinical area at band 5 or equivalent.
- Participation in formulation of procedures to ensure best practise
- Teaching and assessing
- Staff who wish to work as an anaesthetic assistant must have either the ODP qualification or Nurses must have additional formal post basic training in anaesthetics
Desirable
- Peri-operative practice.....multi skilled in anaesthetics, recovery and scrub.
- Experience in a specialised area of theatre work
- Management experience
- Implementation of personal development plans
- Previous experience in appraisal techniques
