We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will be joining a highly skilled renal team who are expert in delivering high quality care to renal patients. R.I.T.A - Renal Intervention and Treatment Area is based alongside the acute dialysis unit on level 6. RITA delivers outpatient care in areas such as access management, renal biopsy, non-oncology chemotherapy, iron infusions.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will promote high standards of professional practice and high quality care delivery within the Trust and Department policies, protocols and guidelines.
You will work within the acute dialysis team providing RRT and plasma exchange to acute and chronic renal inpatients.
The post holder will also be involved in the RITA team where service need requires delivering and serving the large outpatient population.
You will also be required to be part of the renal nurse on call rota to ensure a seamless 24 hour service.
The successful candidate will sometimes need to deputise for the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in their absence with regard to the operational management of clinical service delivery at unit level.

- First level nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register, educated to diploma level
- Relevant clinical post-registration education to include a recognised renal course and mentorship qualification.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to lifelong learning.
Desirable
- Evidence of leadership training / development.
Previous Experience
Essential
- Significant experience caring for patients requiring renal nursing.
- Significant experience caring for inpatients in an acute setting requiring renal replacement therapy
Desirable
- Involvement in audit / research and willingness to present findings at meetings and conferences.
- Advanced skills in quality assurance of patient dialysis treatment.
- Experience of delivering plasma exchange
