Nurse Team Leader - Children's Emergency Department

Job summary
We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about emergency care and be committed to improving service delivery and developing nursing practices for the children, young people and families who utilise our services.
The Children's Emergency Department (CED) and Children's Assessment Unit (CAU) are co-located units delivering all aspects of emergency care to approximately 29,000 children and young people per annum.
CAU is a 9 bedded unit and provides up to 24-hour care to children and young people who have been referred by a health professional for further assessment by a specialist doctor and or admission to hospital.
Within this area we also house an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) who see's children with a range of minor injuries and illnesses.

Main duties of the job
To provide positive role modelling, clinical leadership and knowledge to facilitate, supervise and enable high, competent standards of safe, individualised, holistic, family centred care that is evidence based, in consultation and partnership with the child, their family/carers and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), that recognises the distinct needs of children and young people and ensures the provision of privacy and dignity.
Assist in the safe, effective, efficient operational management of the department and nursing team, within allocated resources, undertaking delegated responsibility in the absence of the Ward/Dept Matron LD
Assist in the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/departmental level.
Assist in the delivery and monitoring of all quality indicators at ward/departmental level, including patient experience indicators and observation audits.
This post involves rotational duties over a 24-hour period.
