Job summary

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse Chiltern Kidney Centre who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

This treatment facility opened in October 2021 enabling renal patients living in and around this area to have their treatment in their hometown. You will be joining with an experienced renal team who has extensive experience in developing workforce to manage Renal units. The post will be based in Houghton Regis but managed by the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

Spanning over three decades, our experience in dialysis, innovative research and treatment concepts has earned us national and international recognition.

Previous experience is dialysis is not required for the post. The Chiltern Kidney Centre unit is providing an environment with state-of-the-art IT systems and equipment and plenty parking facilities . You will be trained in the delivery of high-quality patient care in a dialysis setting. The East and North Herts Trust (The Lister renal unit) has a proven track record of successfully developing and managing Renal Dialysis Units at Stevenage, St Albans, Bedford, Harlow (PAH) and Chiltern Kidney Centre.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary clinical team in renal. Renal Team will be providing the clinical management of patients requiring dialysis around Luton.

You will demonstrate a willingness to develop the knowledge and skills required to care for renal patients. This includes the delivery of care to all patients receiving renal replacement therapy in the haemodialysis units, on the nephrology ward and in home therapies.

Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel.

Participate as a member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of research based care, support the team of staff working in the area to deliver a quality service and support the Sisters / Charge Nurses and Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in the training and development of junior staff.
