Job summary
We are recruiting for a Head of Learning and Development who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This role will lead the development, delivery and management of all non- clinical education, training and learning across the organisation and manage the Learning and development Team, Library, Apprenticeships and Work Experience and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) teams, working closely with service colleagues to ensure alignment with service needs and development of the organisation learning environment for all Staff.
The Head Learning and Development will be the strategic and operational lead in developing and delivering our Learning Strategy, ensuring that our strategic plans provide continuous improvement and allow for quality assurance of all learning programmes and interventions, being delivered for the current and future workforce across the organisation.
In line with the Trust's People strategy and the NHS Workforce plan, this role will work across integrated Care System Partnerships to ensure that there is a focus on attracting, retaining, growing, and developing a capable workforce, across all levels.

Main duties of the job
This role will also hold responsibility for ensuring that there are efficient systems and processes to deliver and monitor compliance with clinical and non-clinical statutory and mandatory training requirements and core role competences.
The post holder is expected to develop collaborative education stakeholder partnerships locally, regionally, and nationally to maximise education funding streams and procure the best education and learning opportunities for our workforce, covering areas such as professional development to management and leadership programmes. Managing talent, developing frameworks to support career growth and implementing career pathways for all staff will be a crucial part of this role.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of the current NHS England learning and development funding arrangements as well, Apprenticeships, use of technology to enhance learning and the people and culture drivers in the NHS.
You will be highly motivated with the ability to influence at all levels and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
