Superintendent Radiographer

Job summary

We are recruiting for a Superintendent Radiographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.As part of the clinical leadership team you will act as a clinical expert and operational lead for one of the defined service areas within the department.Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) is one of Europe's leading and largest cancer treatment centres. External Beam radiotherapy equipment comprises of seven linear accelerators including four Truebeam units, with the centre currently in the process of installing two Halcyon and an Ethos linear accelerator all with Hypersight and IDENTIFY. This technology supports a comprehensive stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and adaptive radiotherapy programme Pre treatment includes two dedicated CT simulators with the most recent installation a Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro.A High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy suite is also situated at the cancer centre with a dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner.The Radiotherapy department is operational routinely between 8am-7pm Monday - Friday including bank holidays.Our Values are Include, Respect and Improve. Main duties of the job

To act as a clinical expert covering all treatment and pre-treatment units of the Centre as required.

To partake in technical lead in new technologies and developments

To be a member of the departmental management team maintaining responsibilities for department management, education, R&D, technical practice development, and quality. The post holder is required to be a specialist in at least one of the above.

To act as an expert in the field of clinical radiotherapy.

To lead a radiotherapy unit as and when required.

To be available to take a lead in the selection, design and commissioning of new equipment.
