Job summary

We are recruiting for a Ward Manager - Ward 7B who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Ward Manager to join our team on ward 7B this is a 30 bedded ward responsible for looking after Urology and Colorectal Specialities.

You will lead and manage the nursing team on ward 7B and work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team within Urology and Colorectal.

You will be responsible for budget control, quality and improvements while maintaining a high standard of patient care and experience.

Main duties of the job

The focus of this role is on providing appropriate intervention, support and clinical expertise to deliver a safe clinical pathway that promotes high quality care through role modelling, expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education.

This includes proactive engagement and use for the enhanced recovery pathways for this group of patients, where appropriate.

Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines.

Accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/ department level, through ongoing vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy.

Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.

To be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialised knowledge in caring for patients with complex needs.

To provide advice and support to all staff working in the area.

To establish effective communication links with the Surgical division management team.
