We are looking for enthusiastic staff nurses to join our friendly team. We are a 26 bedded unit based at The Treatment Centre Lister Hospital. We incorporate Orthopaedic Elective Surgery and varied short stay Surgery.
The successful applicants will become part of a successful, friendly team that can support newly qualified nurses and enhance skills already gained.

Main duties of the job
To support the ward manager in the operational management of clinical service delivery at ward level for trauma and elective orthopaedic patients.
Provide specialist trauma and orthopaedic nursing care and expertise, both in delivering direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for the higher needs and dependency of orthopaedic and trauma surgical patients.
The focus of this role is on providing appropriate intervention, support, and clinical expertise to deliver a safe clinical pathway that promotes high quality care through role modelling, expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education. This includes proactive engagement and use for the enhanced recovery pathways for this group of patients.
Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols, and guidelines. Accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/department level, through ongoing vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy.
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.
To be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialised knowledge in caring for patients with complex needs.
To provide advice and support to all staff working in the area.
To establish effective communication links with the Surgical division management team
