Job summary

We are recruiting for Emergency Medical Technician's who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

This role is an exciting opportunity to assist the nursing staff in maintaining a safe environment and deliver a high standard of patient care. You would be providing direct patient care in minor injuries and minor illness with in the Urgent Treatment Centre. You will work alongside Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Triage Nurses and GPs. This role will provide you with plenty of opportunity to gain specific skills in plastering / suturing and wound care. This is a chance to work with a very established and experienced team with a wealth of knowledge to share with the right candidate!

You will be required to work on both the Lister and QEII sites and will be operating 12 hours shifts either starting 07:45 or 12:00 midday.

Main duties of the job

You will be trained to achieve a high level of practical skills for use within the emergency department. On completion of the training program, it is anticipated that you will be responsible for the below day to day to duties.

Baseline observationsApplication of support/ splintageCardiac monitoringVenepunctureBasic Life Support of the adult (including automated external defibulation) and child.Transfer & escorting patients.
