Job summary

We are recruiting for a Deputy Director of Estates and Facilitieswho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The estates and facilities division is a multi-disciplinary department providing comprehensive estates, engineering and facilities management services for the Trust.

This includes statutory compliance issues such as Health & Safety, Fire and Security. It covers the full range of hard FM services and leads on strategic planning influenced by our partners in the health economy. It covers the management of medical devices including the mandatory statutory requirements around training and maintenance.

Through contract management and 'in-house' staffing, the supply of all facilities services patient and staff catering, domestic services, portering and car parking.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Director of Estates and Facilities, the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities will contribute to the delivery and achievement of corporate objectives associated with environment and estates.

With specific focus on the healthcare environment, the deputy director will be accountable for providing strong and effective leadership for the operational delivery of engineering, decontamination, clinical engineering, soft FM, health & safety and security functions delivered through the estates and facilities division.

This is a pivotal leadership role within the division, and a key post within the Trust, who will ensure strong positive relationships within the division, wider Trust management teams and across operational services; providing management, advice, leadership, and support to the Trust.
