We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse for the Urgent Treatment Centre at Lister Hospital, who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We have a exciting New Urgent Treatment Centre opening January 2024 co-located at the Lister Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for registered nurses wanting to focus there career in minor injury /illness. This role will be shifts between the opening hours of 07:45-Midnight, the main responsibility will be triaging patients on arrival and streaming to the practitioners for treatment.
The Urgent Treatment Centre deal with minor injuries and minor illnesses. We have Emergency Nurse Practitioners/ Emergency Care Practitioners. Emergency Nurse Practitioners have a background in nursing, and Emergency Care Practitioners are usually from paramedic or physiotherapy background.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients and determining their level of need for medical assistance and treatment immediately, influencing the order and priority of emergency treatment, or transport destination for the patient.
You will also be involved in Cardiac monitoring, Basic life support, Venepuncture and Cannulation.
You will be actively involved in triaging patients and assessing base line observations. You will also be responsible for application of support/ techniques of wound closure and plastering.
You will be required to assist the Emergency Nurse Practitioners and GPs in maintaining a safe environment, delivering a high standard of care and upholding the well-being and dignity of all patients.
You will also be required to deliver a high level of practical skills for use within the UTC Department.
