You will be joining our lovely and caring team in our busy day care department, which comprises the John Bush Research and Supportive Care Unit and the Outpatient Department at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

Main duties of the job

Helping to ensure the smooth running of Consultant, Radiographer, Nurse and pharmacist led clinics, liaising with the multidisciplinary team, support & administrative staff to ensure the needs of patients and carers is met.

Monitoring and assisting in managing the flow of patients each day, attending the department for supportive and acute oncology care

Developing your phlebotomy skills and undertake dressings

Performing physiological observations, ECG's and personal care

Use good organisational skills to ensure waiting times areminimal

Assist in auditing of care and the environment

At the direction of the Registered Nurse participate fully in the delivery of planned nursing care

Involve patients and carers/relatives in the delivery of care

Works collaboratively with others in the day unit to ensure that patients and carers needs are met

Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations

  • Extensive experience as Band 2
  • Achieved Grade / Years of Basic education GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent in English and Maths.experience
  • Willingness to complete NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care if not already gained

  • Experience in Cancer Care
