We are recruiting for an Estates Maintenance Worker Specialist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
An exciting opportunity has risen in the Estates Team at East and North Herts NHS Trust as a full-time position.
The job role is busy and varied, working as part of the Mechanical team, as well as the rest of the maintenance team and managing your own workload. You will be required to liaise with people within your department and around the Trusts Sites.
The role will require attending maintenance requests, on call urgent call outs and weekly Planned Maintenance work orders.
You should have a current driving licence and be prepared to use his/her vehicle for commuting between various hospital sites. A mileage allowance will be paid for this facility.

Main duties of the job
You will be a technician with a mechanical or plumbing background and will carry out, with minimum supervision, maintenance and installation work on all facilities, plant and equipment throughout East and Norther Herts NHS Trust Estate, to deputise for the Team Leader in his absence.
You will also provide technical engineering advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, fabric, and utility services for the trust.

Essential
- Approved Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or City Guilds Technicians Certificate, BTEC ONC or equivalent in relevant topics.
- Clean UK Driving Licence
- Working safely with steam training
- He/she shall undertake any technical training deemed necessary so as to achieve multi-skilled status.
Desirable
- Relevant training courses, particularly NHS/HTM
- GAS SAFETY Registered.
- Approved Plumber
- BTEC in Medical Gases for Competent Persons.
- BTEC in Sterilizer & Washer Disinfector Maintenance & Testing to current HTM standards.
Previous Experience

- Proven relevant experience working on breakdowns and PPM on mechanical/plumbing plant & equipment, steam raising & electrical plant found in a hospital environment.
