Job summary
We are recruiting for a Colorectal CNS Secretary and STT Admin Support who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
To be responsible for the provision of an efficient, comprehensive personal assistant and administrative support service to the Colorectal nurses and STT team and any other members of their team/s. The post holder will be required to work independently using their own initiative and must apply a high degree of confidentiality to all aspects of their work.
To undertake these duties without direct supervision, working within broad procedural guidelines.

Main duties of the job
To date stamp and prioritise all incoming correspondence, locating patient notes to respond and then deal with promptly bringing urgent correspondence to the Consultant/s attention at the earliest possible time. Tracking notes to relevant area/s and Consultant/s on the Patient Access System (PAS) as appropriate.
To receive blood test results, radiology and other investigative reports, presenting all results immediately to the medical team/s attention for their appraisal. Where requested by medical teams, regularly review office procedures to keep patients, relatives and GP's informed of results and progress. Ensure results are filed correctly in patients' notes following any action requested by medical team/s.
To efficiently audio type and ensure Letters have been signed/authorised by a Doctor this could include all letters, reports, summaries, results, insurance claims, GP and Consultant letters and any other work generated by the nurses and their team/s. Retrieve patient records and coordinate all correspondence relevant to outsourcing. Audio typing and/or shorthand typing may also be required for any work deemed not suitable for outsourcing.
