We have 2 substantive posts available, based at the brand new QEII Hospital located in Welwyn. The posts consists of 10 programmed activities (PAs), but part time and job share applicants are welcome to apply.There are opportunities for Consultants with special interests in Epilepsy, Diabetes and Endocrinology, and Cardiology. We can also accommodate acute work and paediatric clinic work.This is a career enhancing opportunity to work with a team of dynamic and experience Community Paediatricians in an active and progressive department. Our team consists of 14 Consultants and 1 Associate Specialist, supported by specialist health visitors, children's specialist nurses and psychologists. We work closely with or colleagues in acute paediatrics, speech and language, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking consultants with enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation.The successful post holder will participate in the diagnosis and of children with a range of neurodevelopmental difficulties including ASD and ADHD.The post holder will also participate in multidisciplinary assessment clinics for children with suspected autism, for pre-school and school age children and provide a safeguarding children service in conjunction with other colleagues. You will provide medical input for SEN, special schools and adoption and fostering as required
If you are successful, you must also provide clinical supervision of Paediatric Doctors in training.
