We are recruiting for a Renal Counsellor / CBT Therapist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
Our forward thinking and dynamic renal service is looking for a part time Counsellor or CBT Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will join a regional expert service and have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients. Our current psychological service is highly regarded and we are keen to hear from professionals who will deliver quality care and support service development.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a dynamic multi professional renal service and work closely with the Band 7 Counsellor to deliver a high-quality specialist psychological service to patients and their family, carers, and / or transplant donors.
The role includes the provision of assessments, interventions and support to renal patients. Working in partnership with the multi professional team will be a fundamental requirement to ensure that psychological aspects of care and needs are promoted and addressed.
The post holder is expected to operate within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the East & North Hertfordshire service policies and procedures. Keeping up to date with best practice in renal care is supported and encouraged within the department.

- Degree / Diploma in Counselling / CBT or equivalent as recognised by the BABCP, UKCP or a similar professional body.
- Accreditation with BABCP, UKCP or other equivalent professional body
Desirable
- Couple counselling training or qualification
Previous Experience

- Using more than one model of counselling/psychotherapy.
- Working with a variety of different client groups
- Working within a multi-professional team.
- Confidence in risk assessment and risk management.
