Job summary

We are recruiting for a Roald Dahl Children's Complex Care Nurse Specialist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have been very fortunate to be successful in gaining a grant to work with the Roald Dahl Marvellous Children's Charity to fund a Roald Dahl Children's Complex Care Nurse Specialist. This will be working alongside our Lead nurse for this specialty caring for babies, children, and young people (BCYP) with complex health within the acute children's service.

We are looking for an exceptional children's nurse to come and support effective communication, develop continuing pathways and processes across boundaries and organisations both locally and regionally.

The successful candidate will predominately focus on improving planning and support for BCYP with complex life-limiting/threatening conditions), including effective pre-admission, transfer and discharge planning, with the aim of reducing length of hospital stay and readmission, promoting safe and high-quality care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for supporting and developing a collaborative and high quality service for babies, children and young people (BCYP) with complex health within the acute children's service. This will be in conjunction with the existing Children's Complex Care Nurse, senior nursing and medical team.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting effective communication and developing pathways and process across boundaries and organisations both locally and regionally.
