Job summary

We are recruiting for a Lead Radiographer for CT component of SPECT who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Lead Radiographer to oversee the day-to-day operation of the new SPECT service at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage and provide clinical leadership for the SPECT and CT services. The CT service is also provided at the new QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City

The new purpose built department encompasses a Siemens Intevo Bold SPECT scanner, allowing an expansion of the current nuclear medicine service. In addition there are 5 CT scanners across both sites. Two Siemens Force and a AS+ and two Canon Prime Acquilion. This new role will support the current modality leads in nuclear medicine and CT.

The role encompasses staff management, organisation of departmental workload and representation of Radiology within the multi-disciplinary environment at the hospital.

The successful candidate will have extensive clinical knowledge and skills of both CT and nuclear medicine, together with a commitment to support the team in providing the highest standards of service. They will be confident in taking responsibility and making decisions in matters relating to staff, patients and the service.

Main duties of the job

To be jointly responsible for managing the day to day operations of the nuclear medicine and CT departments at Lister and new QEII hospital

To be responsible for delivery of an effective and efficient high quality specialist imaging service and patient care that meets the needs of patients and referrers.

To promote nuclear medicine and CT excellence.

To maintaining excellent clinical standards.

This post is based at the Lister Hospital but rotation to other sites may be necessary to maintain effective service levels.
