Job summary
This is a fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow appointment for a period of 12 months, available to start as soon as possible. The post is based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, is full time and the post holder will be expected to participate on the 1:8 renal on call rota. This is an excellent opportunity within the Nephrology department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.This post would suit a dynamic doctor planning a career in Nephrology who wishes to gain further experience of renal medicine at registrar level. The successful applicant will be expected to assist in the running of nephrology services within the Lister Hospital, including in-patient and out-patient management of renal patients. They will work at registrar level and will participate in the renal registrar on call rota and potentially some general medicine on call.Experience in renal medicine at core level is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work under the supervision of the consultant nephrologists to provide day-to-day care of patients on the nephrology ward, in the Hemodialysis Unit and CAPD Unit, and attending renal clinics in the Lister Hospital. There will also be duties at the satellite units as rostered. The appointee will be encouraged to contribute to audit and research activities in the unit.The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations and teachings. Although, this post is not recognised for training the appointee will be encouraged in their training and development within the role.Applicants must hold full GMC registration and licence to practice.
