Job summary
A great opportunity has become available for a pharmacist with an interest in operational services or an experienced pharmacist seeking to work in a hospital pharmacy setting.
We are looking for a proactive, motivated and ambitious Senior Dispensary Pharmacist to co-ordinate the clinical screening of work within the dispensary, working closely with the dispensary team to manage the daily workflow through the department.
Main duties of the job
o To assist in the provision of a safe, efficient, and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for the patients of West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.o To provide a clinical pharmacy service to in-patients and outpatients.o To partake in specialised clinical pharmacy duties on a ward.o Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff.o Educating patients about their medicines.o Training of medical and nursing staff.o Supervision and training of junior and foundation trainee pharmacists, technicians and assistants.

Essential
- MPharm (or equivalent overseas degree).
- GPhC registration.
- Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent).
Desirable
- Diploma in Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent).
- Independent Prescriber.
Knowledge:
Essential
- Good clinical practice knowledge.
- Can show appropriate applications of clinical knowledge and effective pharmaceutical care skills.
- Understanding of national and local pharmacy issues.
- NHS organisational structure.
- IT Literacy including word processing, e-mail and use of the internet.
Desirable
- A solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing).
Experience:
