Job summary

We have an exciting full-time opportunity in our Outpatient MSK Physiotherapy Service based at West Hertfordshire Therapy Unit, Jacketts Field site, in Abbots Langley.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Physiotherapist interested in a static MSK role.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic Outpatient Physiotherapy Team seeing a range of MSK presentations, gaining a wealth of experience, and further developing clinical assessment and treatment skills within this specialist area.

You will be supported by a Band 7/6 tier through a well-established probation, competency, supervision and appraisal process. We also offer in-service training opportunities. There are also good mentorship opportunities and peer support with our existing Band 6/5 staff body.

In addition, whilst very hard working, we are a sociable department committed to the health and wellbeing of our staff.

We have a comprehensive Special Leave Policy, a Well-being Champion on site, Employee Assistance Programme, Spiritual and pastoral support and links to the VIVUP service.

Main duties of the job

You will be working in a busy, friendly outpatient department seeing GP and Consultant referrals, undertaking assessment and treatment face to face and virtually. Whilst you will be working autonomously, you will be supported by a supervisor and a team with extensive experience and knowledge. Nonetheless, our in-service trainings are lead by each clinician and so it is important to keep up to date with recent evidence and research. You may be involved in leading classes and so therefore we are looking for someone who is a good communicator, motivated and organised.

Education and qualifications:

Essential

  • Registered with the Health Care Professions Council
  • Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent & NHS experience
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Desirable

  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists or equivalent recognised by the Health Professions Council

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of physiotherapy structure in NHS
  • Standards - Health Professions Council/Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/Local
  • Policies and procedures (local e.g. Health and Safety)
  • Ability to search and review the evidence base
  • Understanding of clinical governance and the implications for the service

  • Evidence of written projects/audit
