Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Senior Administrative Assistant to become part of the UK NEQAS Administration team.

The post holder will contribute to the administration of cost-effective and efficient UK National External Quality Assessment Schemes, which supply exercises/surveys and advice to national and international participating Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratories.

UK NEQAS Haematology and Blood Transfusion are operated by the West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and this post is an NHS appointment based at Croxley Business Park.

Standard hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, full time.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for stock ordering, registration of participants and assisting in the office and administrative functions for the service.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a senior administration post, have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to deal with changing workload/ priorities and have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of accounting practices and software would also be desirable.

  • Basic knowledge of VAT regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of non-UK business practice.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping or accounts.

Experience:

  • General office or secretarial experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.

  • Experience in credit control.
